NOTE: The Master in International Business will have a new application deadline for April 2026 intake. The new deadline is June 15th of 2025!
The International Business Master’s program follows on consecutively from the International Business Bachelor’s program.
Successful applicants for the Master’s program must
a) completion of an academic higher education degree and
b) completion of an initial academic degree in a Bachelor’s degree program in International Business or completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or a university diploma in a related business degree program (in accordance with § 3, section 1 (b) AO-Ma) and
c) submission of proof of completion of three of the following four modules of the Bachelor’s degree program International Business with comparable content:
- Corporate/Business Finance (financing and investments),
- Financial Accounting,
- Business Mathematics/Statistics and
- Economics (General Economics)
(in accordance with § 3, section 2 (a) AO-Ma).
Each applicant must have taken and passed three of these four required modules in their first degree program, as well as the following:
d) Proof of English language proficiency as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages by submitting the results of a
- TOEFL test with at least 95 points for the internet-based test, or
- an IELTS test (academic) with a level of at least 7.0, or
- a PTE academic test with at least 76 points,
- a comparable test, which attests to English language skills at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The language test must have been taken within the previous two years. Applicants who have completed their Bachelor’s degrees in an English-language degree programme in an OECD country are exempt from providing proof of English language proficiency.
The selection committee shall decide on the comparability with b), c) and d), above. The following applies to b): Applicants from a comparable degree program are deemed to have fulfilled this admission requirement in the event that at least 140 credit points correspond to the modules of the Bachelor’s degree program International Business at HTW Berlin.

You should apply via the HTW application portal if one of the following requirements applies to you:
- You obtained your first academic degree in Germany.
- You are a national of an EU or EEA country.
This degree programme starts in the summer semester.

or
You should apply via uni-assist if you
- obtained your first academic degree outside Germany and
- are not a national of an EU or EEA country.
This degree programme starts in the summer semester.
Application period: 01.04. - 15.06.
